I originally started this blog as a working log for the OCA Drawing 1 course as part of the BA (Honors) in Painting. Due to unfortunate circumstances I have had to quit the degree programme but I will not let this stop me from continuing my art journey.
Before starting the Drawing 1 course I had only ever used a pencil or pen to draw with for sketches or studies for crude paintings, most of which I had painted when I was very young.
Following the OCA drawing course I learnt to draw with many different types of media, develop my skills as an artist and begin to see things differently. No longer do I simply look at someone’s face when I speak to them, I now begin to draw that person’s face in my mind.
I have started to see myself as an artist rather than someone who likes to draw.

Hi Mark. Thank you for visiting and following HoB. Much appreciated!
Pleasure to meet you. This looks very interesting – maybe I should try drawing again.
You too, yeah I would definitely suggest it.
good luck with your course – looks fascinating! I wish I had some drawing talent!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I find it interesting that your blog is about drawing as I am just now learning to sketch. I have never taken the time to learn before, having come from a very small town where art was not even discussed, but I am finding it very enjoyable. I will be following along and coming back to your older posts as time permits as I am sure I will learn a lot.
I’m sure u will, I have been learning drawing as part of the BA honors in painting aI have been following a course. Most of the blog posts explain the exercises so it should be easy enough to follow.
I can hardly wait to get started. Thanks!
